Poems. Music. Conversations. Messages. Dedication to Latvia.
Departure. Daydreaming. Returning.
The atmosphere of the programme is awakened by sounds of spring and at the same time tells of the preparation for the celebration of Latvia’s one hundred year anniversary of its declaration of independence in 1918. The poems are linked to the choice of the musical pieces and emphasizes essential themes such as the fulfillment of life, one’s personal development, love of the fatherland as well as a currently popular topic – immigration – about Latvians that have left to live abroad, and those who have returned, those who are still on their way. The emotional and vibrant poems by Dace Micāne-Zālīte will tell about the core values of being a contemporary cosmopolitan Latvian, of love and longing for fulfillment.

“Only by walking the road of life, does a person realize the importance of belonging to his or her homeland, the value of one’s native language and the cultural heritage seeing it from a different perspective. When is abroad and misses home, then imagination of life back home focuses on thoughts, nature, songs, poems and paintings.”
